Deep purple red color. Deep, rich and sweet aromas of blackberry and black cherry with subtly spiced toast, vanilla clove and cola. Beautiful! On the palate this wine is full bodied and slightly sweet with ripe blackberry, Bing cherry and sweet vanilla toast. The mouthfeel is soft on the entry, lush in the mid-palate and finishes long and slightly tannic to remind you it is predominantly Cabernet.

Production notes

The fruit for this wine is from Obelisco Vineyard, which is in its third year. The high density planting yields smaller berries, which contribute to the con- centrated flavors. Combine this with 18 months in 100% new oak, about 2/3 Ameri- can and 1/3 French, and you get a wine that seamlessly melds great fruit and oak.

Vineyard notes

2008 was another great year in the vineyards. Mostly even temperatures and little wind and rain during bloom made for nice set. The summer was hot, but not too hot, and typical fall ripening conditions of warm days (80-85) and cool nights (45-50) began in mid-September and continued through October. Washington con- tinues to prove its great consistency and quality.
